Pauline Vickers, Senior Project Manager at Egress and former Nurse, shares her thoughts on our incredible NHS as it marks 75 years of service today.
I joined Egress Group approx. 16 months ago as a Senior Project Manager delivering complex data projects as part of large-scale EPR implementations, something of a change for me as I am a nurse by background.
Although I haven’t worked on the frontline for a couple of years now, I still feel that being a nurse is a very important part of who I am and what I do. I worked as a staff nurse for many years in different acute trusts and experienced all the highs and lows of frontline care. It is often difficult and distressing, but, at the same time, so rewarding. I met and worked with some amazing people (many of whom I am still in contact with today). I feel very strongly that our NHS is wonderful and something that we should all be very proud of.
Although I may no longer be employed by the NHS, I like to think that my current role at Egress allows me to continue to have a positive impact on patients’ experiences of using the NHS.
Effective and safe data management is the fundamental building block to enabling the digital aspirations service providers have that will transform care and ultimately improve patient outcomes.
That is why I am passionate about helping trusts with their digital transformation by ensuring their data is right as it is migrated between systems and that the myriad of systems talk to each other in a timely, accurate way.
